Arboretum and dewpond under snow.In the arboretum Cornus Midwinter Fire makes a bold display.Cyclamen coum showing their flowers just above the snow.
Created over 50 years
The garden contains mixed borders, sweeping lawns and a flight of steps in Cotswold stone greeting the visitor and a small box garden lies beside te house with, behind it, an old apple tree, one of only two trees which pre-date the garden as it is today.
Garden
In midsummer the 3 acre limestone native wildflower meadow is a sea of soft colours and this is followed in autumn by vibrant autumn colours in the arboretum, with carpets of Cyclamen hederifolium beneath, followed in turn by Cyclamen coum and Daphne bholua, which flower, whatever the weather until March. Then come the Cyclamen repandum and Fritillaria meleagris alba, before the Magnolias break into flower.
